About my photography
I am a hobby photographer, not a commercial photographer. I attend events because I enjoy photography, aviation, wildlife and supporting the people who make these events happen.
I will usually try to speak to people where practical, explain who I am, and make clear that I am taking photographs as a hobbyist. At group events, it may be assumed that those attending have seen me taking photographs, especially where photography is openly taking place throughout the day.
You are welcome to
- Use photographs of yourself for personal use.
- Share appropriate images on your own social media.
- Print them for family and friends.
- Use them for charity fundraising or promotion.
- Use them to promote events I photographed, where you are connected with the event.
- Request high-resolution copies.

Commercial use
Commercial use is generally restricted to the people featured, event organisers, charities and organisations directly connected with the event.
If your request is reasonable, please ask. Common sense goes a long way, and I am happy to approve most genuine requests.
Please don't
- Sell my photographs without permission.
- Claim them as your own work.
- Remove my watermark where present.
- Share online without crediting @williammead64 (WJM Photography).
- Pass original files to third parties for resale.
- Re-share photographs of children without explicit permission.
Photographs involving children
There may occasionally be photographs that include children, particularly at family, charity, aviation or community events.
Where a photograph has been taken specifically of a child, permission will have been sought from a parent, guardian, organiser or appropriate responsible adult at the time, as far as reasonably possible.
Please do not copy, publish, forward, post or otherwise share photographs of children without explicit permission. Even if you have access to a shared folder, that access does not give permission to redistribute sensitive images more widely.
Shared Lightroom folders
Some photo folders may be shared with individuals, small groups, event organisers, charities or people who attended the same event on the same day.
When a folder is shared with a group, it is done on the understanding that the images are for the people and organisations connected with that event. Please use common sense and respect the privacy of others who may appear in the photographs.
If you are unsure whether you should share, publish or use a particular image, please ask first.
If you are featured in one of my photographs and would prefer it not to be shared, please get in touch and I will be happy to discuss or remove it where appropriate.
Prints and downloads
Some favourite photographs are available through Picfair. Any income helps cover travel, equipment and the cost of enjoying this hobby, while also helping support good causes whenever possible.
